Our work includes providing children and young adults from underrepresented and underserved communities access to computer science and STEM education through Amazon Future Engineer. We address immediate needs—such as reducing family hunger and homelessness and serving communities in need following natural disasters. We also make it easy for customers to support their favourite charity through our Delivering Smiles wishlist program.
How Amazon delivers smiles in Singapore
Amazon continues to support over one thousand NPOs around the world by donating millions of the items they need to help their communities and deliver much-needed smiles along the way with our shoppers.
We seek to encourage students from underserved communities to learn computer science and someday pursue careers in technology or other in-demand jobs of the future by providing access to quality computer science education opportunities. Our signature Amazon Future Engineer program is designed to inspire, educate, and prepare students from childhood through college.
Through in-kind and cash donations, Amazon supports local communities with what we call “Right Now Needs,” which include increasing access to food, shelter, and basic goods for children and their families. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, this has included delivering more than 12 million meals to vulnerable populations around the world. Closer to home, Amazon worked with Food Bank Singapore to deliver food packages to those in need.
We leverage Amazon’s vast operational excellence, innovative technologies, and worldwide logistics network to provide fast and effective support to organizations fighting large-scale natural disasters. Amazon has filled cargo jets with Amazon-donated items for communities ravaged by hurricanes, sent solar-powered lights to people living without power, enabled customers to easily donate products and cash on Amazon.com, and helped governments and nonprofits expedite response efforts at scale through our AWS cloud services.
