On October 13, 2025, over 2,600 participants created an astounding 10,821 unique generative AI applications in a single day.
Empowering the Next Generation Through AI Education
This historic achievement represents the culmination of an educational journey for the students and teachers of West Java, who had explored AI's creative potential and responsible usage through education and training partnerships with local non-profit organizations including Prestasi Junior Indonesia, Alkademi Foundation, and Yayasan Sagasitas Indonesia.
Students made the attempt both from their individual schools and the Amazon Think Big Space at SMK Negeri 1 Kawarang, demonstrating the scalable nature of this educational model, and the innovative spirit of Indonesian youth, who developed diverse applications ranging from project management assistants to personal carbon footprint companions. Students prepared pre-conceptualized AI app ideas, while teachers and non-profit staff brought these visions to life using PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock playground that democratizes AI development by requiring minimal coding knowledge.
Ms Fuji Chika Ramadhani Rahmat from SMK Negeri 1 Karawang exemplified innovation at the attempt, transforming her concept into a fully functional application in just one hour using PartyRock. She told the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator and Indonesian government attendees about her experience, including how PartyRock’s s intuitive design allowed her to focus on creativity rather than technical complexities. She also shared how excited she was to see her idea turn into rapid success, which then inspired her to develop another application aimed at helping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) thrive in the future—again leveraging PartyRock's accessible technology. "Using PartyRock is really, really easy. The app I conceptualized was made in one hour, and now I want to build other AI applications to help MSMEs thrive in the future," she said.
A Testament to Indonesia's Digital Future and Amazon's Long-term Commitment to Indonesia
The achievement has garnered significant recognition from Indonesian leadership. Mr. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure & Regional Development, praised the accomplishment, stating that the students "have shown that Indonesia is not just ready for the digital future. We are helping to build it".
Ms. Aynee Toorabally, the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator who certified the achievement, emphasized that this success "underscores Amazon's commitment in empowering young Indonesian talents through technologies and training that prepares them for the future".
This record-breaking event is part of Amazon's broader commitment to Indonesia's digital transformation. Since 2017, AWS has trained over one million Indonesians in cloud skills, demonstrating a sustained investment in local talent development. In this year alone, for example, together with just Prestasi Junior Indonesia, more than 5,100 students and 40 teachers from 40 high schools across West Java were trained on AI and machine learning skills. Amazon Web Services launched its Jakarta Region in December 2021 and established the Amazon Think Big Space at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang in November 2024, which served as the central hub for this record attempt.
The initiative extends far beyond setting a world record. As Jaime Vallés, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, AWS, noted, "AWS is committed to ensuring as many Indonesians as possible have access to Gen AI education and skilling so that we can solve some of the country’s biggest challenges and opportunities together as well as prepare local builders for the global digital economy.”
A Model for Global AI Education
This groundbreaking achievement positions Indonesia as a leader in youth technology education and creates a framework that can be replicated in other regions. By making advanced AI tools accessible to students and educators, Amazon is helping to democratize technology and ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence reach communities worldwide.
Through initiatives like this, Amazon continues to fulfill its commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where it operates, ensuring that the transformative power of generative AI is accessible to the next generation of creative thinkers and future builders.
